Paris becomes scene of mass anti-govt. labor sit-in

French people have staged a sit-in in Paris to protest against the government-proposed labor reforms. Thousands of protesters gathered at the Republic Square in eastern Paris to voice their opposition to the plans. Opponents argue that the new reforms will worsen the working conditions and increase the unemployment rate. The demonstrators pledged to continue their campaign until President Francois Hollande backs down. Paris and some other French cities have been the scene of anti-government protests in the past week. Some of the rallies turned ugly as protesters clashed with police forces.
