Trump rejects having called Sessions Mr. Magoo
US President Donald Trump has rejected describing his Attorney General Jeff Sessions as Mr. Magoo.
Trump tweeted Saturday that such allegation by The Washington Post is fake news.
Since the 2016 campaign, Trump has repeatedly used the term "fake news" largely for any coverage criticizing him or his allies.
“The Washington Post said I refer to Jeff Sessions as ‘Mr. Magoo’ and Rod Rosenstein as ‘Mr. Peepers,’” said the president. “This is ‘according to people with whom the president has spoken.’ There are no such people and don’t know these characters...just more Fake & Disgusting News to create ill will!”
Mr. Magoo is a cartoon character created in late 1950s that ends up in comic situations mostly due to his nearsightedness.
The president has reportedly been considering firing Rosenstein after an FBI raid on the office of his personal attorney, Michael Cohen.

Rosenstein is the only one who has oversight over the so-called probe after Sessions recused himself.
The investigation seeks to find out whether the Russian government coordinated with Trump’s aides after the intelligence community’s conclusion that the Kremlin helped with the New York billionaire’s campaign effort ahead of winning the White House, an allegation dismissed both by Moscow and the president.
