The China Media Group (CMG) on Sunday presented a themed light show in Shanghai's West Bund International Media Port just ahead of the Second China International Import Expo (CIIE), which will open November 5.

The show had two parts — the City of Magnolia and the Chinese Culture. In the blooming of magnolia, Shanghai's city flower, the City of Magnolia show presented the city's modern life that combines the Shanghai culture with the Jiangnan culture, a culture accumulated in areas south of the Yangtze River.

Taking advantage of the pop art, the show depicts the city's iconic buildings, as well as the city's effort to develop itself into an international center of economy, finance, trade, shipping, and sci-tech innovation.

The Chinese Culture show features the treasure house of key traditional Chinese cultural elements, which ended with a splendid display of fireworks.

The light show will be staged throughout the 2nd CIIE, which will run until November 10 in Shanghai. Meanwhile, an 8K documentary named "The City of Magnolia," produced by the CMG, was officially released on Sunday.

On the same day, the International Media Port Company of the CMG signed cooperation agreements with five major enterprises in sectors such as finance, culture, and catering, aiming to help make Shanghai a hub for film, fashion, and cultural innovations as well.
