Wimbledon: Djokovic tops Berrettini, earns 6th title
Novak Djokovic has earned his 6th Wimbledon and 20th Grand Slam title by defeating Matteo Berrettini of Italy 3 sets to 1.
It was a hard-fought battle in the opening set, but the Italian was the brighter of the two as he won the set in the tie-break.
However, the world number 1 fired back in the second set and managed to take it 6-4, before taking the third set in the same fashion.
The Serbinator continued his flawless performance in the fourth with a 6-3 win to emerge victorious after 3 hours and 23 minutes on the Center Court of Wimbledon.
After winning his third consecutive championships title, the Serbian Ace tied Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal’s all-time men's singles major titles record and became the first man to win the first three majors of the season in the Open Era since Rod Laver claimed all 4 in 1969.
