Six years have passed since an agreement between Iran and the P5+1 was finalized on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program.

The deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was supposed to ease the UN and US sanctions on Iran in exchange for a halt to some of the most fundamental aspects of the country’s nuclear industry.

However, the deal has been in disarray since ex-US President Trump abandoned it in 2018.
