The Boston Celtics have punched their ticket to the NBA Finals with a 100-96 road win over the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Celtics who led throughout the decider held off a late Miami charge to run away with the win. Jayson Tatum powered the C’s with a double-double, scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. He was named MVP of the Eastern Conference Finals. That’s while Jimmy Butler scored a game-high 35 points in the losing effort. Boston will now be playing for sole ownership of the league record for championships, a record they currently share with the Los Angeles Lakers. Both teams have won the NBA crown 17 times. The Celts will face 6-time champions the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, starting next week.
