Crimes of Israel

In the occupied West Bank, a funeral has been held for a Palestinian teen killed by Israeli forces, with mourners urging retaliation and intensification of acts of resistance against the regime. Mahmoud Abu Sa'an was shot during an Israeli raid on a refugee camp east of Tulkarm in the early hours of Friday. Eyewitnesses said the victim was unarmed, despite Israeli military claims. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry described the killing as a field execution, urging the International Criminal Court to break its silence and promptly complete its probe into Israeli crimes. The Hamas resistance movement also stressed that Palestinians will continue their revolution until the Israeli occupation ends. Israeli troops carry out attacks against Palestinians across the occupied territories almost on a daily basis. The regime has killed more than 200 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip.

UK homeless crisis

New research by a cross-party group has found that one in 50 Londoners are now homeless as living costs and rents soar. The group London Councils estimates nearly 170,000 people in the capital are now living in temporary accommodation. That’s a yearly increase of 10-percent and includes 83,000 children. The group warned that the capital’s housing crisis is becoming “unmanageable” and called for emergency action from the government to help low-income families. A recent survey also showed the number of families and individuals facing homelessness in England is at its highest since 2018. Britain is in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis, with high rates of inflation. That has caused significant hardship throughout the country and triggered mass strikes across various public and private sectors.

No to interference in Niger

The Kremlin says any interference in coup-plagued Niger by non-regional powers such as the US will not help improve the situation. Peskov was responding to a question about a call from Niger's ousted president, Mohamed Bazoum, for the US and the entire international community to intervene in the African country. This as West African nations are to determine a potential intervention if Niger's coup is not overturned by Sunday. The US president has called for the immediate release of the pro-Western Nigerien president. However, the junta has said it will not bow to pressure to reinstate Bazoum.
