French ban on anti-Islamophobia protest fails amid mounting state repression

France has been accused of increased repression towards its Muslim community since the start of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza. A protest against Islamophobia was initially banned by the government, but thousands turned out in Paris despite the risk of facing judicial intimidation.
