Iran’s presidential snap election will be held on Friday, June 28. It takes place within 50 days from the death of the late President Ebrahim Raisi, who was killed in a helicopter crash on May 19. Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, this will be Iran’s 14th presidential election. Six candidates are vying for the office as the race heats up heading towards the final stretch.

This edition of the Spotlight program is about the upcoming presidential election in Iran. It discusses the fundamental differences between democratic election in Iran and other countries, especially in the West.
