He said he’s entered the race for the sake of Iran and called on the people to do the same. Meanwhile, the two contenders are set to hold their second televised debate ahead of Friday's runoff vote. Press TV aired the first one on Monday and will cover the second at 1800 GMT today. In the first debate, the two candidates elaborated on their plans.

Gaza displacement

In the Gaza Strip, Israel’s relentless air and artillery strikes are claiming more civilian lives. In the latest development, at least ten Palestinians have been killed after Israel’s artillery targeted Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City. The IOF's bombing of a house in the city of Deir al-Balah also left twelve Palestinians dead. Israeli air strikes were also reported in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. In the south, at least eight Palestinians were killed and a number of others were injured in a series of attacks on Rafah and Khan Yunis. The attacks come after the regime’s new evacuation order, which the UN agency for Palestinian refugees says has impacted some 250,000 Palestinians in southern Gaza. The Israeli aggression on Gaza began early last October. Since then, over 37,900 Palestinians have been killed.

Israel rising casualties

The Israeli military has announced the deaths of two soldiers during fighting in Gaza on Monday night. The military said they were killed in central Gaza, without elaborating further. Earlier, the regime said 44 soldiers had been injured on Sunday and Monday by resistance attacks. Meanwhile, the military wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad say they have killed several Israeli soldiers in the east of Gaza City. Israel says 322 IOF soldiers and officers have been killed since the ground invasion of Gaza in late October. Palestinian sources say Israel intentionally keeps the real number in the dark so it will not negatively affect the morale of its soldiers.
