Pro-Palestinian protesters denounce Israeli athletes' participation in Olympics
Demonstrators gathered in the center of Paris on Saturday (July 20) to protest the Israel delegation's participation in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
Hundreds of protesters marched in Paris, waving Palestinian flags and holding banners reading "Ban Israel" or "Genocide is not an Olympic event". Some protesters also wore "Boycott Israel" t-shirts.
Members of the pro-Palestinian group Europalestine said there was a double standard, with Russian athletes banned from participating under their national flag, while no such measures have been introduced regarding Israeli athletes since the start of the conflict in Gaza.
