Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Paris on Saturday to demand an end to the violence in West Asia following a dramatic escalation in the fighting between Israel and the Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah.

Footage shows large crowds waving Palestinian and Lebanese flags at Place Joachim du Bellay, chanting while holding banners and placards bearing slogans such as 'hands off!' and 'stop the collaboration'.

"Macron does whatever he wants!" a protester said. "He's sending weapons. Do you think that's normal? Down with our rulers who arm the occupiers!"

The demonstration came after the assassination of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the longtime leader of Hezbollah, in a massive Israeli airstrike on residential buildings in Lebanon's capital Beirut on Friday.
