Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi has reaffirmed Iran's "commitment to tackling regional and international challenges in collaboration with its partners" after meeting Russian officials in Moscow.
In a post on his X account, Takht-Ravanchi highlighted his “constructive and fruitful” discussions with Russian deputy foreign ministers Andrey Rudenko and Sergei Ryabkov.
The talks, he said, encompassed bilateral relations, regional and international developments, and prospects of negotiations to terminate sanctions against Iran.
“Iran is determined to continue consultations with its partners in addressing regional and global challenges,” he wrote.
During his meeting with Ryabkov, Takht-Ravanchi also addressed Iran’s relations with North and South American countries, cooperation with BRICS nations, and international security matters.
The senior diplomats covered a wide range of topics, including the latest developments within the BRICS framework, stressing the importance of ongoing international consultations and enhancing multilateralism.
They also discussed contributing to global peace and security amid pressures from certain nations pursuing unilateral actions that violate international law, human rights, and humanitarian principles.
In a subsequent meeting with Rudenko, Takht-Ravanchi reviewed the status of Iran-Russia cooperation in various regional and international contexts.
They emphasized the need for continued dialogue on legal and customs incentives to facilitate trade, strengthen economic ties, and advance a comprehensive cooperation agreement, along with initiatives like the North-South Corridor and the 3+3 consultative mechanism for the Caucasus region.
