Israel has slaughtered 13,000 students in Gaza, West Bank since October 2023

Israel has killed more than 13,000 students in the besieged Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank since October 2023.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Education reported a harrowing toll of 13,177 students killed and 21,991 others injured since the said date.

The ministry said Gaza alone accounts for over 13,054 student fatalities and 21,320 injuries, while the occupied West Bank, including occupied al-Quds, has witnessed the death of 123 students and injuries to 671 others.

Additionally, 560 students have been abducted in the West Bank.

It also stated that 657 teachers and administrators have been killed and 3,904 were injured in Gaza and the West Bank, and more than 165 were kidnapped in the West Bank.

The Israeli military has bombed and and vandalized at least 324 government schools, universities and the buildings affiliated with them and 65 affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza. The buildings are damaged or completely destroyed.

According to the ministry, more than 788,000 students in Gaza have been unable to attend school or university since October 7, 2023.

Most students have been exposed to the trauma of war, the consequences of which will last a lifetime.
