Top general: Enemy dares not cast hostile glance at Iran

Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri (C) addresses the inauguration ceremony of the Second Maritime Zone located in the strategic Jask region, near the Strait of Hormuz in southern Iran on January 16, 2025.

Iran’s top military general has praised the country’s naval capabilities, saying the enemy does not dare cast a hostile glance at the Islamic Republic.

“Today, our navy is fully prepared in various aspects, including training, skills, design capabilities, and the implementation of a variety of complex plans and programs, and we take pride in this readiness,” Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri said Thursday.

He made the remarks at the inauguration ceremony of the Second Maritime Zone located in the strategic Jask region, near the Strait of Hormuz in southern Iran.

Bagheri said the second zone of Jask is located in a highly sensitive and strategic area in the Sea of Oman, at the northern edge of the Indian Ocean, with no obstacles to reaching the entire globe.

“This is a blessing that we must value more than ever, ensuring the necessary infrastructure, equipment, and weapons for our country. Using this zone as a foundation, missions are being carried out rapidly, and progress is well underway,” he added.

Gen. Bagheri said despite facing the height of sanctions, pressures, conspiracies, and threats, Iran managed to establish the new Second Naval Zone of Velayat in Jask with such beauty and strength, integrating new equipment and utilizing it effectively so that “no one dares to cast a hostile glance” at the interests of this nation and its territory.

“This power, supremacy over the sea and land is a blessing that ensures any investment and activity by the government, the people, and other investors can be carried out with complete security,” he said.

“We proudly declare in all governmental and non-governmental forums that the powerful armed forces of this nation have ensured complete security for all infrastructural, economic, cultural, and social activities. No one can claim that security or defense issues prevent work in the coasts, borders, islands, waters of the Islamic Republic, or our region.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Gen. Bagheri said that over the past decade, despite pirates threatening the safety of international waterways, these naval fleets have ensured the safe passage of “our commercial and oil vessels through dangerous areas” on hundreds of occasions.
