Yemeni Armed Forces have conducted a fresh missile strike against the premises of the Israeli ministry of military affairs deep inside the occupied territories in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni military, announced in a televised statement on Saturday afternoon that Yemeni missile units had carried out a reprisal operation against the strategic position in Tel Aviv, using a Zulfiqar ballistic missile.
The Zulfiqar missile, which is reportedly radar-evading and highly maneuverable, has a range of more than 2,000 kilometers (1,242 miles).
Saree noted that the missile struck its designated target with high accuracy, and Israeli anti-air systems failed to intercept it.
He said the Yemeni Armed Forces will stand by the side of Palestinian resistance fighters in Gaza, and will not hesitate to respond militarily to any violation of the ceasefire agreement in the besieged coastal sliver that will come into effect on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. local time (0630 GMT).
Earlier in the day, Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv suspended both inbound and outbound flights following the ballistic missile attack from Yemen.
Israeli police said they had received reports of debris and shrapnel from the Yemeni missile that fell in the al-Quds area.
Some fragments purportedly fell in an open area near Moshav Bar Giora, while other pieces fell near a gas station next to Moshav Mevo Beitar.
There were also reports that a large part of the missile went down in a field near the illegal Beitar Ilit settlement.
Back on January 14, Yemeni Armed Forces targeted the Israeli war ministry building with a homegrown Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile.
Yemenis have been hitting Israeli and American targets in support of Palestinians in Gaza since Israel launched its devastating war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, and in response to the American-British aggression on their homeland.
The Yemeni army has also been targeting ships linked to Israel, the United States, or the United Kingdom to force an end to the Tel Aviv regime’s brutal war on Gaza.
The operations have effectively shut down the Eilat port south of the occupied territories, causing significant economic setbacks for the Israelis.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have said they will not stop their attacks until Israel’s ground and aerial offensives in Gaza end.
Israel has killed at least 46,899 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 110,725 other individuals in Gaza since the onset of the war. Thousands more are also missing and presumed dead under rubble.
