Israel West Bank incursions
The Israeli military presses ahead with its large-scale raid on the West Bank city of Jenin, with the death toll from the military attacks standing at twelve. In addition to sounds of gunfire, the latest footage coming from Jenin shows Israel’s military vehicles and bulldozers on the streets of Jenin where thousands have been forced to leave their homes since Tuesday. Israel’s military actions were not limited to Jenin. There were more raids and arrests in other areas. A Palestinian was arrested in Tulkarm, while two others were apprehended in a town near al-Quds. Israel’s intensified raids in the West Bank have drawn condemnations. The UN has warned that Israel may repeat its Gaza genocide in the occupied West Bank.
Plight of Gaza children
The Algerian ambassador to the UN has painted a grim picture of the toll Israel’s genocidal war has inflicted on Palestinian children in Gaza. Bendjama was addressing a UN Security Council meeting on Thursday. Also speaking at the meeting, the deputy of British ambassador to the UN said Gaza has become the world’s deadliest place for children. The UN humanitarian chief, Tom Fletcher, also addressed the meeting. He said over 17,000 kids are currently without their family in Gaza, as they have been orphaned or separated from their family members. Fletcher added that some kids faced sexual violence during the genocidal war on the Palestinian territory.
Slamming Ansarullah blacklisting
The political bureau of Yemen’s Ansarullah has strongly condemned the US decision to blacklist the movement as a so-called foreign terrorist organization. It described the move as a desperate attempt to back Israel’s crimes against Palestinians and dissuade Yemen from supporting the cause of Palestine. The movement also accused the US of blatant hostility towards the Yemeni people. It said the US history is stained with terrorism, and it is in no place to classify others as terrorists. Ansarullah also warned about the consequences of the decision on economic and humanitarian issues in Yemen, and peace efforts that have reached an advanced stage. Separately, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman condemned the US decision. Esmail Baghaei warned that such unilateral and baseless moves further undermine the rule of law in international relations, and threaten regional peace. He added that the US blacklisting of Ansarullah is a pretext for imposing inhumane sanctions on the Yemeni nation.
