Kyrgyzstan has reached an agreement with the Canadian company Centerra Gold to gain full control over the long-contested Kumtor gold mine.

More than a dozen miners have been killed in Sudan when a mine collapsed in South Kordofan province.

A gold mine in central Isfahan produced 223 kg of the precious metal in the eight months since the start of the Persian year in mid-March, its managing director says.
