John Steppling, an author and commentator from Norway, says allegations brought against US President Donald Trump on receiving money from foreign states such as Russia are “absurd.”

“This is an anti-Russia propaganda piece and there is no evidence Russia did anything” during the US presidential election in 2016, Steppling told Press TV on Wednesday.

The Democratic Party, the Pentagon and the CIA "are pressuring Trump to get on board with foreign policy" that existed and bolstered under former President Barack Obama, which destabilized other countries in North Africa and the Middle East, he said.
