Casper Ruud has completed the last four line-up at the ATP finals, setting up a meeting with defending champion Daniil Medvedev after a 2-sets-to-1 victory over Andrey Rublev.
World No. 5 Rublev comfortably grabbed the opening set 6-2 by winning 92% of his first service points. Ruud seemed to be in further trouble when he was broken early in the second.
But the Norwegian found his mojo to peg back the Russian, and tie the match with a 7-5 win. Ruud then pulled off another comeback in the decider to force a tie-break, where he sealed his last 4 ticket with An Ace.
The 22-year-old who has won 5 tour singles titles in 2021, will face World No. 2 Medvedev in the Semis on Saturday.
