Iran-Russia partnership
Tehran and Moscow have signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian hailing it as a new chapter. The two sides agreed to help each other counter common security threats. They also agreed that if either side was subjected to aggression, the other would not provide assistance to the aggressor. He said both his country and Iran are resolutely opposed to external pressure from abroad.
US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
The Israeli military presses ahead with its indiscriminate strike across Gaza, despite the announcement of a long-awaited ceasefire agreement with Hamas. The latest attacks targeted a residential building in the city of Jabalia, leaving two people dead. Israeli jets also attacked the Nuseirat refugee camp as well as Gaza City. According to the Gaza health ministry, at least 20 Palestinians have been killed on Friday alone. This brings the death toll since October 2023 to 46,876 with more than 110,600 others injured. Most of the casualties are women and children.
Ceasefire celebrations
Iranians have poured into the streets across the country to show their solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza and celebrate the ceasefire in the besieged territory. People from all walks of life participated in the nationwide marches that were held after the Friday Prayers. Demonstrators chanted anti-Israeli slogans, condemning the regime's massacre of tens of thousands of civilians since the genocide began. They also waved Palestinian, Lebanese, and Iranian flags to pay tribute to the resistance fighters and leaders killed in Israeli strikes.
