Gaza genocide aftermath

Two Palestinians have been killed and several others injured in an Israeli shooting in southern Gaza Strip a day after the ceasefire. According to Palestinian medical sources, two civilians, one of them a boy, were shot dead by Israeli snipers in Rafah. Medics say eight people have also been hit by Israeli fire since this morning. In the same area, the civil service extracted 97 bodies from the rubble increasing the death toll from the Israeli genocidal campaign to 47,035. 10,000 people are believed to be buried under the rubble. Civil defense forces are still looking for the bodies across the Gaza Strip.

Gaza reconstruction

Hamas says the widespread destruction all over Gaza is evidence of the Israeli regime’s brutality and utter disregard for any human value. The resistance movement says these unprecedented and barbaric crimes committed before the eyes of the world must prompt all international legal organizations to prosecute the Israeli leaders and army as war criminals. Hamas added that these crimes that went on for over a year did not stop the resistance and the Palestinian people from staying in their land and confronting the aggression. The movement stressed that Gaza will rise again and rebuild what the regime has destroyed, and the path of resistance will continue until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital. Meanwhile, top UN officials and humanitarian groups warn of a huge challenge ahead in reconstructing the Palestinian territory.

Inauguration day

Donald Trump has been sworn in for a second term as the 47th president of the United States in a ceremony held in the capital city of Washington. The new president of the United States delivered a speech after the swearing in ceremony stating that the golden age of America begins right now. He vowed an end to the weaponization of the justice department accusing former president Joe Biden of pursuing politicized prosecutions. He went on to criticize Biden for failing to manage border security and other crises that occurred on his watch. The inauguration ceremony marks his comeback after two impeachment trials, a felony conviction, and an indictment for attempting to overturn his 2020 election loss. This is while earlier thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Washington to protest Trump’s policies concerning immigrants’ rights, climate change, women’s rights and gun violence.
