Israel West Bank raids

Israel’s deadly raids into the occupied West Bank city of Jenin enters its third day, with regime forces killing and displacing more Palestinians there. At least 12 Palestinians have been killed since the start of Israeli raids on Tuesday. The armed wing of Hamas has confirmed the killing of two Qassam Brigades fighters by Israeli forces in the town of Burqin, west of Jenin. Israeli forces have destroyed roads and infrastructure as well as shutting off electricity in the city. Hospitals and ambulances are also being attacked and besieged by regime troops. Meanwhile, hundreds of Palestinians in Jenin are leaving their homes after Israel issued an evacuation order. This as the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for “maximum restraint” from Israeli forces in Jenin.

US blacklists Ansarullah

Iran has condemned the US decision to re-designate Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement as a so-called foreign terrorist organization. Ismail Baqaei, the spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, was reacting to a White House statement which blacklisted Ansarullah. The statement cited operations against American warships in the red sea, which Yemen had carried out in retaliation for US aggressions against Sana’a, as one of the reasons. Baqaei said the US decision to label Yemen’s support for Gaza as terrorism aligns with America’s support for Israel’s genocide against Gazans. He said such unilateral, arbitrary, and baseless actions further undermine the rule of law in international relations and threaten regional peace. Baqaei said the US blacklisting is a pretext for imposing inhumane sanctions against the Yemeni nation.

US-China tensions

China has once again slammed the US deployment of mid-range-capability missiles in the Philippines, calling the move highly dangerous and a threat to regional stability. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning made the remarks following reports that the US military relocated its Typhon launchers to the Philippines. These launchers are capable of firing multipurpose missiles with ranges of thousands of kilometers. Mao also stressed that the United States has no right to interfere in the maritime issues between China and the Philippines.
